Grad Cert Assessment: Ministerial Project Plan

Length: 3000 words (50%)

Due: 24 September

Rationale: All faith-based organisations, whether parishes, dioceses, or specific ministries, will benefit from a planning process that develops explicit statements about the identity, mission, vision, culture, and strategy of the organisation. This exercise requires students to present a ministerial project plan that engages with each of these elements.

Task description:

Take your answers from the questions posed in Assessment 2 – the Draft Ministerial Project Plan, and create:

A mission plan for your parish/ministry. The mission plan should contain the following elements:

a) An Identity and Mission Statement

b) A Discipleship Definition (or an equivalent articulation of what fruit looks like in your ministry)

c) An articulation of your organisation’s values and their operationalisation

d) An articulation of the vision

e) An articulation of the fundamental strategy for the parish/ministry

f) An articulation of several strategic priorities or goals for the next 12-18 months.

2) An “exegesis” that explains the rationale for each element in the plan (a.-f.).

Conclude your exegesis by responding to the following questions:

  1. What was challenging about developing the parish/ministry plan?
  2. What do you think are the benefits of such a plan?
  3. What are the potential issues with your plan?

Submission: Please submit the paper through the Arete Classroom LMS
