Grad Cert Assessment: Reflection Paper

Length: 1000 words (30% of course grade)

Due: 8 October

Rationale: Leadership is not just about how one interacts with others. There are various personal skills and attributes to attain to be a fruitful and effective leader. This reflection paper invites students to reflect upon where they might wish to grow and develop in these personal attributes and skills for the sake of their leadership in ministry.

Task Description: Pick one of the following topics:

A. Time management and priority setting
OR
B. The role of vulnerability, shame, empathy and resilience in leadership (Leadership from the Heart)
OR
C. Leading when you’re not in charge;

and answer the following questions:
1) What are the most important insights you have gained from this topic?
2) Why is this topic relevant to your ministry at this time?
3) How have you tried to implement these insights into your ministry?
4) What has worked well? Why?
5) What has been challenging or difficult? Why?
6) Briefly outline the next 2-3 steps you want to implement to grow further in this area of ministry
